We are a modern, friendly, family general dental practice dedicated to taking care of your dental needs in a gentle and professional manner.
Our philosophy is to treat all our patients as individuals each with differing needs and requirements. We would like to provide you with dental treatment that will not only solve your dental problems today, but will address them for the long-term. You will be treated with courtesy and all our staff will be willing to help you with any questions you may have about our practice.
Any visit you have with us will be made as comfortable as possible. If you feel you have any special requirements do not hesitate to inform us so that we may assist you with these requirements.
We have a commitment to keep up to date with all the latest developments in the world of dentistry, from optimal cross infection control to advising on the latest treatment options available.
As well as providing the quality dental care you deserve we also operate a system of transparency regarding our fees. Patients are free to request a price list and it is always displayed in our waiting area. In addition to this, you will be given a treatment estimate for all the care you require. If, for any reason, you do not get one, please request one. It is our belief that there should be as little uncertainty as possible regarding the fees you are expected to pay.
At Absolute Dental Care we make it a priority to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff. Modern protocols are also followed regarding strict cross infection control as directed by the Dental Council of Ireland. This ensures that infections cannot spread from the practice to patients or vice versa.
In this respect, staff are fully trained to be compliant with this. We use disposable dental instruments where possible. Modern protocols also instruct that all instruments used in root canal treatment are disposed of after one use. This was introduced specifically to eradicate the spread of new variant cjd. We also use disposable drill bits to help in cross infection control.
Any instruments that cannot be disposed of are sterilised according to modern protocols in a ‘Type B vacuum autoclave’ in our central sterilising area. These modern autoclaves are the only ones recommended nowadays to thoroughly sterilise dental instruments and are seen as the industry standard.
All work sent and received from dental laboratories is also disinfected.
In addition to all the above, staff and patients are protected by the use of safety glasses, and staff always wears new gloves and mask when treating each patient.
To further aid in maximising safety, all our staff attended a basic life support course once a year.
Intra-Oral Camera
With the use of an intra-oral camera, you can see exactly what the dentist sees on a flat screen! The magnified photo helps you visualise exactly what is happening to your teeth.

Digital X-Rays
At Absolute Dental Care we have invested in installation of x-ray equipment that takes digital images. This has several advantages. Firstly, they are safer than standard x-rays as they use about one fifth of the radiation dose compared to traditional x-rays. Also, there are no harmful x-ray developing fluids required to process any films. One other advantage is that the image is produced almost instantaneously (about 10 seconds), so you won’t have to wait for 15 minutes for the x-rays to process.
Magnification
We consider it important to view your teeth using magnification so that your teeth can be viewed in detail. This allows us to do the highest quality work that can be done. For this reason, the use of magnification loupes is standard at the practice.

Computerisation
Absolute Dental Care is one of the few practices in Ireland that is fully computerized. The use of a dedicated dental software programme in our practice allows efficient appointment scheduling for our patients and allows us to provide instant treatment plan and estimates.
Payment
All patients are seen on a private basis or under the PRSI scheme run by the Social Welfare. We are not registered to provide treatment under the Medical Card Scheme run by the Health Board.
If covered by PRSI there is a discount on most routine examinations, fillings and extractions. Some items of emergency dental care qualify for a discount but others, such as issuing a prescription, are not. You will be advised of what is covered and a written estimate given accordingly. The discount is given by the practice when paying at each appointment and so is not refunded to patients by the Social Welfare.
We usually give written estimates for all treatment that is required. If you do not receive one, please ask.
As we do not run an accounting system and to avoid any confusion, we ask that payments are made for each appointment as they are completed. We accept cash, cheque, laser cards and credit cards. If required a standing order may also be set up for large treatment plans. We always issue a receipt unless requested not to.
Cancellations
If possible, we ask for at least 24 hours notice if you have to cancel an appointment. This allows us to offer the appointment to someone who may require emergency care.
Patients who continually fail to come in for scheduled appointments will be liable to a ‘failure to attend’ fee of €40. This must be paid prior to a new appointment being made otherwise no further appointments can be made.
